Is the information that your trainer is telling you really going to stick when you're in the middle of doing a set of heavy squats? The answer is quite simply, no. There is a lot better way of doing things.
In order to achieve the best results, in a goal to achieve optimum health, body composition, and performance, it is necessary to separate nutrition consultation and program design from your workouts.
Through simple progression, frequent evaluation, continuing education, and support, this program will ensure our success. At the conclusion of this commitment to yourself, you will be "re-programmed" and armed with the knowledge and habits to be the best possible form of you and be able to stay that way for the rest of your life!
This program is set up on a yearly basis. That is a realistic time frame for specific goal achievement, knowledge, and habit formation. We will set real measurable goals to achieve. The sky is the limit!
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
First, you will be given some initial questionnaires and assessment forms to fill out. These will tell us everything we need to know about you. Medical history, information about your social support circle, kitchen set up, and a three day food log are some of the things that are included.
In our first meeting, we will gather this information, take initial body composition assessments (measure your body fat with skin fold calipers/ inches with a tape measurer), as well as take your first set of photos. Taking skin fold caliper and girth measurements in conjunction is important and useful because it will show us exactly where you are gaining muscle and shedding fat. Not only is this motivating, but can also give us clues to hormonal imbalances that could potentially slow progress down the road. Photo documentation will give you visual proof of the milestones we have accomplished and will also be a very strong motivator to take things to the next level. (photos are taken every 3 months throughout the program)
After analyzing individual information in conjunction with your first assessment, we will then have our second meeting. We will point out your limiting factors, go over some general nutrition guidelines, and set up our first set of daily behavior goals. From this point, we will start making progress towards our first, real, measurable outcome goal.
We will then meet every two weeks for body composition assessment and your simple nutrition lessons (the length of meetings is generally 30 minutes to an hour). Don't worry, we aren’t going to lecture you on science for an hour. We will just be giving you practical, useful information so you can understand why we are doing things the way we are. All of your measurements will be tracked on a chart and shared with you, so that you can see your progress over time. You will also be given new goals to conquer and shoot for leading up to the next check in.
Throughout the program, as you master habits and accomplish goals, we will set new ones until eventually you are doing everything right automatically and without even thinking about it. With 80 to 90 percent adherence to our daily behavior goals this system is guaranteed to be full proof. Our progress will never stagnate because by meeting every two weeks we will immediately know if something needs to be changed.
